Loom video, not playing when embedded

Hi,
Firstly just want to give a quick shout out to the fantastic team at Glide for their continued ingenious work. And also to those in the community for your creative and clever problem solving.

I’m not sure if this issue has anything to do with Glide but the loom videos I embedded in my app were working initially but now only play for a split second then stop. They play fine from the Glide platform, but not when using my app.

Any ideas?

thanks,
Denis

Can you reproduce the problem in a Loom recording and share the link here? Thank you.

Hi ThinhDinh,
Thanks for your reply. Here’s a loom video of the issue. I am using the web embed component in the app, it takes in the url of the loom demo video that I want the app to be able to play.

Copy the URL from the embed code, and use that in a webview component.
Tested in a published App and it works fine.

Still can’t get it to work. Have taken the url from the embed code as you advised, still the same issue. Uploaded the video onto aws but now users can download the video which I don’t want so will have to create a html video player without download option and host it on aws and then pass url as parameter. Would still like to just link to Loom if any other ideas? It does seem to be something to do with the video quality as when I change that the video will play.

Did you test on a published Glide app or did you test on Lambdatest?

Try using this loom embed url with syntax:
https://www.loom.com/embed/1805d09a6fc84a54a557b229b2f7f32c

Yep tested on my published app. It does seem to be a non glide issue, it’s something to do with loom cos I managed to get the video displayed as a non loom user and the same thing happened. If I find anything out will let ye know.

It works when I use the link to this. The video quality options are different. I realise I was only checking the setting on loom’s website and not on the pc app, will change the recording quality and see if that works. thanks

Yes seems to have been related to the recording quality settings I set on the loom desktop app - when set to auto I encountered the aforementioned issue, recording it at 720p fixed the issue. thanks for your help guys.
