Is it still the case that Glide Templates are not updateable?

I create an app/site in glide where customers can download the app/site and login to update their own data. I place the app in the Glide App store. Is it still not the case that I can make an update to the template that is automatically picked up by customers who have downloaded the app?

That is still the case. I think in most cases, people would not want the template that they downloaded and customized for there own needs to be changing on them without notice. I know I wouldn’t. You don’t know if they added or removed columns, tables, or components. Seems like it would be an easy way to break other people’s apps if your changes are not compatible with the customizations they made to their app.

Ok… that makes sense. So if I sell a Template app on the Glide Template app store its a one off payment and that’s it? There is no way I can sell a subscription to the Template app… (maybe make the Template app free, but integrate a per user per month/year stripe payment somehow so that each user with a copied Template app has access to that copied Template app?

I’ve never sold templates in the template gallery, but as far as I know it’s a one-off sale, there is no subscription model available.

Basically you cannot build and distribute a Glide app following a SaaS model, which would be build a parent app, sell daughter apps, any changes to the parent would be pushed to the daughter apps, and revenue would be subscription based (monthly for instance).

If you are willing to host the app, all users, and all data, then you could have a single app under your account and then sell subscriptions to use it. That’s probably your best option based on what you are trying to do.
