It would be extremely useful if Glide allowed users to edit images directly within the app, similar to functionality in apps like OneNote or Skitch. This could include: Freehand drawing or sketching on top of images Adding arrows, text boxes, or highlights Pinch-to-zoom or double-tap to zoom in on images Saving the annotated version within the app as a new or updated image Use cases: Technical inspections (e.g., windows, installations, damage documentation) Clients providing visual feedback on photos Creative teams annotating design drafts or mood boards Marking up floor plans, product images, or documents Right now, users have to use external tools to annotate photos, then re-upload the modified images. A built-in solution would significantly improve Glide’s utility, especially for fieldwork, design reviews, and visual collaboration.

This app allows users to freely draw or add text annotations on top of an image, with each annotation type being stored in separate columns—one for the image and one for the annotations. For now, the data is stored using Glide’s API, which works well within the platform’s limitations. This project is just a starting point to demonstrate that it’s possible to implement image annotation directly within Glide its…

I’m also in the process of building a full version using a GAS web app, and it’s still being refined.
