Glide page is Rejected by Facebook as being Spam & Against Community Guidelines

Gidday Brains Trust,

I finished developing a Tarot Cards reading app for a friend in USA and we’ve struck an issue. She would like to promote the app on FB however FB is rejecting the post because the Glide app URL has .page rather than one of the normal domain extensions.

I’ve tried Tiny URL to create a .com extension however no joy. Is there a work around for this please. My friend would like to open her app for free to all.

The above URL is what FB is rejecting. Why is this so please? Surely Glide must realise that people would like to promote their apps on social media including FB.

Any and all suggestions welcome and will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Glide’s main target is dark apps - focusing on solving internal business problems, rather than consumer-facing apps, so I wouldn’t imagine sharing on social media being something that they put at the front of the line.

I don’t think Glide would be able to do much in this case, you would have to contact Facebook’s support team to see why the app link was flagged.

Idea to circumvent Facebook refusing Glide’s URL: your friend could create a one-pager website with an URL that is accepted by Facebook. Once that’s done, the one-pager website would link to the Glide app. Not at all ideal because there will be a drop-off rate due to the extra step.
