I have a popular methodology for startups that I deploy through spreadsheets… it can’t work that way anymore and I’m trying to figure out how to make it an app (beyond my abilities)
Want a hosted solution, on my domain, but powered by. People fill out what’s asked by the spreadsheet, and that information is then explained in various ways.
Not rocket science as a database and this would be a simple fill in the blank, decipher that and give feedback, and translate it in different ways, in the app.
The user story: the app is hosted on my subdomain, perhaps a paywall if that’s possible, certainly a registration. The user can invite others on their team to the app. They fill out, briefly, with text answers, various questions about their startup, but answers are immediately displayed in a certain layout (evident in the spreadsheet). There is an order to the questions asked, and why they are laid out in the format displayed, top to bottom, left to right. Users should be able to update their answers at any time, as well as export or print the displayed results. When those steps are completed, the user gets an explanation of how certain answers are used to determine their mission, vision, values, culture, and value propositions. They’re prompted to fill that out, and ideally, the app could use AI to draw from their answers to auto-populate this. When that’s complete, the user is walked through how the information is used to create their elevator pitch, longer pitch, and a pitch deck, iterating from a 10 slide pitch deck.
As the team changes anything, the subsequent feedback updates and changes.
Behind the scenes, I have access to it, and if possible, there is prompt for the user(s) to upgrade for hands on support, consultation, or office hours.
I know this is really a rather simple app to build, I just have no idea how. I often consult for a few thousand dollars, over a few days, on this, or I teach and work through it startup incubators, over the course of months… I can’t keep doing it meaningful over spreadsheets copied and shared.
I see you! It’s great that you found Glide because there’s no better platform when it comes to getting off the spreadsheets.
Seems like what you need could be accomplished with one additional row per user which is going to store user’s answers and their personalised mentoring. This could then be shared with as many people as the user would like.
With client portals like these it’s best to build them on the Maker plan to ensure they’re cost-effective and the Glide pricing works with the business model.
This means you can have up to 25k registered users on your app.
If that works for you, I think it makes perfect sense to do this with Glide, at least for a MVP.
