Filter in Layout UI based on Computed Columns/Append Array

I have a series of emails in an append array.

I have a collection of cards, and I’d like to filter the emails/cards in the append array out of the collection list for the signed-in user.

When I go to filter data under options in the Layout, the append array (and really no computed columns) show up as an option for me to filter on.

Suggestions?

Does it help if you filter from the email in the user profile?

Something like email → is → user profile → email
