Email Notifications Based on Project Status in Airtable

Hi everyone,

I’m seeking some guidance on setting up an email notification. Specifically, I would like to automatically send an email when the status of a project, as tracked in a column, changes to “Delivered.” The project status data is connected and updated from Airtable.

I’ve attempted to achieve this using a custom action, but it hasn’t worked because the action isn’t linked to a component.

Does anyone have suggestions on how I can set up an email trigger based on the status update? For example, if the status is marked as “Delivered” in Airtable, an email should be sent automatically from glide.

I don’t think that’s possible. I think your options are either:

  • send the email from Airtable (if it supports it), or
  • change the status in Glide, then you can trigger the email with the same action

Hi Darren, thank you, that was also my plan b. I was hoping that someone might had a clever way to do it, but as you said, it’s properly not possible.

Airtable has built-in automations based on column values, so I think you should be able to do that on Airtable’s side.

Hi ThinhDinh, that is possible yes, but I want the email to be sent from glide.

Is there a specific reason? Can you describe more on how the status is changed?
