Hi everyone,
I started developments with Glide several years ago and during this period several changes such as the drastic change of the pricing model and the change of syncing capabilities with Google Sheets, have damaged my investments in both time and money spent on developing with Glide.
(Glide is having syncing delays with Google Sheet apparently because Glide wants users to shift to Glide Tables. This means I have to re-develop a huge chunk of my app). Can anyone confirm this?
I now need to start a new project (hotel revenue management system) but am scared to do so with Glide as there may be new changes in the future which undermine what I build today.
Clearly softwares need to be dynamic and need to keep changing for the better in terms of features etc. but when this means changing the infrastructure of what client’s invested on then it might become a problem.
Does anyone suggest developing my next internal business tool directly on Google Sheets or AppSheet? Yes, these options are surely less fancy in terms of UI but if it’s about an internal business tool does UI even matter that much?
Building internal tools for my hotel that can work properly throughout time at predictable cost is my objective. Although it clearly depends on the specific development, does anyone have general recommendations on where to build?
Thank you!
Andrea
