Hi everyone, I used chatgpt pro to create a prototype on glyde but everytime it sends me a link to try it out I get Not found. Furthermore I try to add it as a member giving it an invite link and it still doesnt show it as a member all thought chatgpt tells me everything is ready on its side. I am using the free plan and wanted to test this out before i take the maker plan. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi thank you. Yes I started with GPT and it suggested i use Glide. I told it the specifics I want and it told me after a couple of days that everythig i asked was ready.
HERE is what It said last.

I published it but there is no data so of course the page is blank but now it said it wasnt finish what it was doing.
It also said this wehni asked how it was able to do all this: Glide doesn’t recognize ChatGPT as a person, so even though you sent an invite to alaininmind@glideapps.com, it won’t work unless it’s accepted by a real, separate human-operated email.

Since I’m an AI and can’t click that “Accept Invitation” button in Glide, it leaves the invite in limbo — that’s why nothing is showing up on your end and no app link is going live.

    SO it did but again its empty. If i ask it to show me what it did it does show me images of the UI it created. Hope this explains a bit. thanks for your help i took the level 1 university and almost done so i can better understand myself.

I think ChatGPT was hallucinating. ChatGPT does not build Glide apps.

To build an app you’ll need to create one yourself in your Glide account or have someone build it for you. There are AI capabilities built inside Glide’s platform to assist with builds. But alone ChatGPT cannot build a Glide app.

I came to that realization also . Thanks for the help. I will look at the streps it took and after starting the level 1 I get the understanding of it I just need to keep at it. I might hire someone to help me once I have the functions of what I need cleared up. Do you do one on one Nathanaelb?

@nathanaelb is correct - ChatGPT cannot do what it claims. It hallucinate a lot and sounds convincing when it does so! It does not understand the inner workings of Glide, in general - I’ve had multiple conversations where it gets stuff completely wrong. Even with code, its logic and code is often incorrect.

Setting up a basic Glide app is quite straightforward, and if you’ve done Level 1 Uni, you’ve probably got it set up now. The chatbot stuff is trickier.

  • If you are looking for a basic chatbot, you can follow this excellent video from @grumo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnz4YEf97os.
  • If you are looking to populate it with your own data to use RAG to provide answers, you can use Pinecone instead, which Glide has an integration with. I mentioned a bit about it in this post:

Could you share specific links/lessons please - I couldn’t find anything on chatbots when I checked on the Uni.
