Calendar Colours without CSS?

Hi all

So my question relates to the Calendar Collection and the colours of the events. Now I know that colours can be specifically applied to events using CSS but that isn’t an option on the free plan. But I did notice that if I select the Group By option and pick, say,Row ID of the room, then the colours change. I though, hmmm, and added a column in the room table and grouped by that colour and experimented putting different things in the column such as numbers, capital letters, lower case letters, etc. I was getting all sorts of colours so this will kind of work for my purpose.

My question is, does anyone know of a list that says, for example, A will display pink, B will display blue, etc. I went through the capital letters of the alphabet and some colours looked very similar but some colours were not shown at all, such as yellow.

So aside from me trying random entries, I wondered it there may already be a list that aligns colours with a character (be that letter, number, emoji, etc).

Ahhhh…. thanks for this. I did build this little app to try and work out the colours as I’m so keen to find a yellow :joy_cat: And there isn’t one!!!

Yeah, the color palette is hard set by Glide. Still don’t know how they determine it. Basically your color options will whatever that predetermined palette is instead of an unlimited list of colors. As explained in the post I shared, whatever value you use for the group will ultimately be converted to a number between 1 and 20, and those will be your available color options. Each number will correspond with a predetermined color in that color palette.

Yep, I worked that out…. was hoping there may have been a yellow hiding somewhere in there but no, just the same 20 colours cycled. :joy_cat:
