I’ve been rebuilding our service-management app in GlideOS using Codex through MCP, and it’s been going really well.
What I’d love to do next is use ChatGPT, mostly through voice, for everyday tasks. Things like “book an appointment for tomorrow at 3,” “assign this job to Mark,” “update this customer’s phone number", etc.
I’m not looking for browser or desktop automation. I want ChatGPT to call the app’s backend directly, with no clicking through screens.
It would need to follow the same rules and user permissions as the app. Eventually, our office manager and technicians would use it too, without having access to change the app itself or bypass those rules.
Has anyone done this with GlideOS? Can the existing MCP connection be used for this, or is there another way to connect it?
We tried calling the production app through MCP, but got a message saying production app requests weren’t enabled for our organization. Not sure if that’s something that needs to be turned on or if there’s a different route.
