Table Component columns have "Data Source", yet some column types dont seem to have a use for it?

I had a few columns that i was trying to clear out and they showed in use in a table. This was odd as they are not really related at all, and i would not have selected this column as the “source” for anything.

Turns out it was the source for a “numbers” column, but i cant figure out why a numbers column has a source? It doesn’t limit what can be entered, doesn’t change accessible values for filter/visibility, and has no consequence if i change it to an empty table, a user table, or any other table.

What gives?

It’s a weird bug, there’s no real use for it in Text type like you said. Likely they meant to use it for a choice/tag but forgot to remove it for other types.
