Create a Relation with the Unique ID. Then A „Lookup“ to display the things in your dropdown.

That’s true. By “not unique” I mean, can have duplications and editable. So if the Author name has changed the relation will break…

I can’t see an option to choose the Lookup column for the Choice component

Using the Lookup as the Source will let you choose things that you’ve already selected before, but will not let you select new items. I thought you talked about to use the Lookup as the Data (but it is not possible).

And also, it will not let you to set the ID in the relation column.

@rhalaly This isn’t the answer to your problem, but you can submit the Authors name to the books sheet, then use a relation and a lookup column to get the rowID for that authors name. Unfortunately, this will break eventually when the authors name is changed. That’s why we need a more robust choice component to display one value, but save another.
