# Writing notes to user profile

I have a tab that contains the periodic table. I want students to be able to take notes that will be written to their user profile. What I have right now is the notes being written and seen/share by all students. When that didn’t work, I thought I would check the box “allow user to edit” in the hopes somehow that would write to the user profile. I have the columns for the notes set up in the user profile ready to receive the notes data- only way I know how to do this is make a form button and write to their user profile that way but in this case I don’t want have to use the form button if possible.

Use a “text entry” field.

You can make the notes column user-specific and let them add to it using a text entry/notes entry component.
