# Why do I keep switching to the screen asking me to enter my email address?

Why is it switched to a screen asking me to enter an email address when I check Favorites?

Yes, it is a public app. Do I have to log in if I check Favorites?

This happened to me as well when I was testing the comments component. My guess is that it’s because the favorites and the comments track the email and are user specific.

Yeah, you have to log in to do so. It’s a requirement for favorites and comments.

Favorites data is user specific and to save that data for your next session, you have to login, otherwise that data will be reset.

For comments, it has to be tied to a logged in user.
