# Why aren't some items searchable in the search bar in my app

I can’t seem to get results when searching for words that i know are in my sheet?  
Does the search bar search a specific column or are there settings i should know about?  
It would be so nice to be able to search any word within the sheet.

Is the column that contains the word displayed in the list or on the details screen for the list items?

Let me check that. What would you recommend? I just want to know how to get a predictable outcome.

I believe that any columns of data that are are displayed in the list or the detail screen become searchable. If the text is not visible, then it’s not searchable.
