# We need a chat component

It is incredibly rare for us to have a dedicated chat screen where all users are talking to each other. It would be much more practical to have a chat component. The interface would be identical to the chat screen, but it would function exactly like the comments component—Unique topic, sorting oldest to newest, etc.
Bonus for the chat component to also allow photos/files. I would say 75% of all my clients have asked for legit chat functionality. This would be the biggest win since Actions.

Would like to see this happen! I have a community chat in an app. Users ask for responses to reflect the date posted to the chat. I can see it on the back side but not available on the screen. It would be nice to add.

I am forever building this functionality for customers. Would be lovely to have a flexible component to handle it. StackerHQ have just that and it works beautifully (not a competitor by the way but nocode platform nonetheless).

Good evening everyone, it would be great if by default it had a 1x1 chat where you can send both messages and images and apart from documents, I created a chat that generated the sending of messages and images without the chat being repeated, but to send the image yes It’s a bit complex I send you the link I’m sure some have already seen it

We now have a first-class Comments component, with a new Chat appearance option in Preview.

Agreed → Only enhancement would be the ability for a user to upload a photo as part of the comment AND have that image appear in the comment thread.
