# User Custom columns not changing visibility of components

I have a user specific column that I write data into, but for some reason my components aren’t wanting to show when I set up visibility to show when “user specific column is [x value]”.
Any clue why? Please help.

Okay so I fixed it, but it’s weird. For some reason I had to write the data to the column (by a choice component), then go to the data editor and copy the way it added it to the table. THEN I had to paste it into the visibility condition and it worked. ???
I was typing the same phrase in, and it wasn’t working at all. Sounds like a strange bug or something.

There is a known issue with copy/paste in the Data Editor, so perhaps you were affected by that.
