# Updating Source Google Sheet

I have an app with a google sheet source. I want to update this app with new features but don’t want it to risk doing that while its connected to the live google sheet. What is the best & safest to do this?

If I duplicate the google sheet for staging & create a new app based on the new google sheet, can I update the source back to the real google sheet once I’m happy with the changes i made?

Whats the best way people here in the community are using for staging and working on apps that are live.

Are you making changes to the data as well or just the app?

If it’s just the app you can use the new publishing feature.
