# Transaction Text Edit with Validation or Drop-Down

Hello, I’m working with a budget template and would like the ability to edit the transaction category from a drop down list or validation. Am I missing something or Is that possible?

Are you meaning that you’d like for the transaction category to be open edit? Or you’d like to limit their choices for the category?

I’d like to limit their choices. This was not an option the “basic text” layout.

I don’t have that option. Default is “user edit” and I don’t see a way to change it.

Do you have a screenshot? You can add or remove any components you want. What do you mean by “user edit”?

Thanks for your help. Your responses helped me get my visual bearing. I now see i have the ability to add components to do what I need.
