# \<Semi Fixed\> - Help! Button on the details page that adds a new row?

Dear Glide Community,

I have a technical issue regarding the use of buttons on the home page. What I envsion is a QR code scanning app like this ([Scanning a linear barcode | Glide - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGZGWQ02OCE&t=8s)) (The official example)

I am expecting the scanned item to be added to the table as a **new row** and _not an edit to the current row._ How can I do this? Thanks for your help in advance!

Semi Fixed with this quirky action - not ideal at all.
