I am migrating my app from Legacy. I have a tab with about 8 different collections (filtered for different things). In the legacy tab I was able to search once across all the collections but in the new platform each collection has its own search, this means we need to search 8 times to locate all occurrences of the item we are looking for.

Is there a way I can search across all the collections as before

Only way is to create your own custom search:

> [@Search Button](https://community.glideapps.com/t/search-button/73637/2):
>
> You can do something like this: Create a separate single row table to drive your main search screen Add a RowID column, and a user specific text column to hold the search text. Then in every table that you want to search, add the following columns: – A single value column that takes the value of the user specific column in your search table and applies it to all rows – An if-then-else column that returns true for any row that matches. – If you want to match several columns, then you’ll need…

mmm… does that mean each search will count as an edit now ? Its a busy interface with lots of searching going on.

Depends if you are using an old or new plan.

I have had this plan for about 8 months.

If you’ve had it for 8 months, then it would be a Legacy Business Plan, in which case yes, a custom search would consume updates.
