# Prohibited data types?

We had a lot of fun building out some use cases for Glide, but had to step away because of this policy. As a dental care provider, too much of our data risked straying into this policy.

We have a particular use case that we think Glide would be superb for, but this policy hasn’t changed so it prohibits us as a dental practice using the platform. The HIPAA style restrictions have no bearing / resemblence in the UK, so from our perspective they are an unnecessary block.

Is there any movement on this?

The rules have been there for like 4-5 years if I recall right. I would suggest bringing this to someone with legal expertise or perhaps reaching out directly to Glide’s support team for clarification. They might be able to provide more insight or suggest possible workarounds, especially if your use case is unique or if local regulations differ from those in the US.
