New user to this app. I work for design build firm and I recently created an excel sheet for all the projects my company has done over the last 20 years. I uploaded the data to create a new app, but I am struggling with the layout design. I want the data to be easily searchable by item such as location, architect, contractor, revenue, etc. How would you incorporate a search function like this? FYI, I am using the classic version because I do not know how to code. ---

What’s your data structure like? Are the “searchable fields” in the same table or scattered across multiple tables? ---

Similar question to Thinh: 1. What is structure of the data in your Excel sheet? 2. Will the Excel sheet be used for the app only, or is it used regardless and the app is a additional user interface built on top of the spreadsheet? 3. It would be helpful if you shared how you structured the tabs and columns in your spreadsheet. As a general rule of thumb, try to keep entities with the columns/attributes grouped together in the same table. For instance, architects and contractors: these could be two sheets or these potentially could be one sheet (name, email, phone, etc.) with an additional column “Agency type” (architect or contractor). ---

I created the excel file as a pivot table and it has 18 Columns - Projects, Project ID #, Type, Scope, Summary, SQFT, Contract Value, Cost/Sqft, Install Year, Year Completed, Owner, Architect, Contractor, Other Designers, Other Designer Discipline, City, State, Country. I uploaded the date from the spreadsheet, which I believe was succesful. I just am struggling on how to change how the information is displayed. I initially made the spreadsheet to help with searching projects by location, repeat customer, etc. It’s kind of clunky and not a lot of people in my office are excel savy. So I was hoping to use glide to make a streamlined, user-friendly app to search the information. ---

20 years of data might be very expensive to connect it to Glide and pay for syncs and updates, i would use some custom HTML on any server, even a free one. ---

There are only 197 rows, so it’s not very big if that makes a difference. ---

Can you tell us how you would want the information to be displayed? There are a lot of components but yeah that might not be straightforward for new people.
