# My first ever App

Hi all!
New to Glide but wanted to show you my prototype app that I made today.
A bit of a background story to why I think this app would be great.
I live in a small town in Finland but even if this is a small place cultural events for families seems to be advertised a bit here and a bit there and some maybe only on Facebook. This of course causes you to miss some of them.
So I want to create an app that collects all of these events in one place. For now it’s just for me but my dream is to have it actually published for everyone to use.
Since I am using the free version of Glide at the moment I don’t have all the fancy stuff to play around with but I think you will still get the idea. Everything is also at this point manual work.
Sorry for everything just being in Swedish.🙂

Hello Sabina, what a neat app! Hopefully it will gain traction and it’ll be useful to people in your town.
I’m building a tourism app that covers a region in France. Different place, similar idea.
Here is a screenshot of the front page of the app so far. It’s work in progress. We could exchange tips!

I’m also considering an app for the community, and the Maker plan is probably the most suitable given the number of users. Since my intention is not to monetize it but rather to deepen my learning with Glide, I think I’ll cover the publication costs myself.

This looks very interesting! I’m attempting to build something similar here in Australia. How have you set up your tables/spreadsheets for the next layer down as people click on the button they are interested in? How many tables are you using in total to make this?
