# Manual Filter

Hi, i’m doing the manual filter using the **1) user specific column 2) Single Value column, 3) If then column**

The value of choice is written on the column 1)

but my question is why is the value sometime at row 221 sometimes 227th row ?

The value is always stored in the active row. If your screen is based on a table with only one row all user specific values are in this row.

My screen is based on a table with the list of data. But no list component on the screen.  
Meaning it still always stored in different row ?

It’s best that you source the screen from a table that’s NOT the table you’re trying to filter. I typically use the User Profile table, because then I don’t need to use a single value column…just a template column that points to user profile \> filter.
