mmm, okay.  
The other thing I thought about would be to use the current time (converted to a Unix Timestamp value) as the dummy parameter, ie. a value that’s constantly changing. Although I suspect that wouldn’t make any difference either. Also, Glide only updates the current time once every 10 seconds, so if you were moving in and out of the collection quickly the value wouldn’t change at all most of the time.
