Hey community! I know I don’t post here very often. I usually let @andymci take the wheel on that front, but I was so excited about this announcement, I asked if I could share it myself 😂

**This week, we announced the new Glide**.
An entirely new version of our product, built from the ground up for the AI age.

🌲 In some ways, the new Glide is a return to our roots.
Back to the humble spreadsheet from which we began. Starting with a spreadsheet in the new Glide takes you a lot further, because with AI we’re able to analyze your spreadsheet beyond just data in cells. We look at formatting, formulas, macros… we even take a snapshot of your spreadsheet and analyze it visually. All this is done to understand the deep context about your business or processes. There is a map of your operations hiding in your spreadsheet, and the new Glide will use it to plan and build your app.
✨ In other ways, the new Glide is an evolution of our product for the era of agentic software development.
We’ve learned a lot by speaking with customers. What they like about familiar vibe coding platforms. What they don’t like… what is table stakes about no-code development that they’d want carried over into an agentic platform? All of this research has helped us build a platform that allows you to build with the power of AI, while maintaining the control and visibility you get from no-code and spreadsheets.

I believe the email field is restricted to non-generic domain names i.e. professional email addresses.

@MaximeBaker you don’t need to join with your Glide gmail. Do you have a professional email address that is not gmail?

Correct. We will eventually open the waitlist up to personal email addresses as well. But for now it’s restricted to business emails.

Doesn’t matter. You don’t need to use the same email for the waitlist. Won’t necessarily be tied to your account. It’s just a way for us to communicate with you, and validate that you are a business user. Please use your business email.

I’m curious what this means for our current Glide apps? Will there be a way to transfer them into the new Glide eventually?
Will it be possible to build entirely new apps from scratch without first making a spreadsheet and uploading it into the new Glide? Some of us are looking to just build from scratch using the new Glide without any imported spreadsheets…
