# Image to text not possible with ID Cards

Glide Image to Text suddenly no longer works for our app that extracts ID number and name in order to generate an invoice for the client.

It returns:  
I’m sorry, I cannot extract personal data from ID cards or any similar documents.

Any idea when this became the case, the column was working with no issues before today.  
What possible solutions for this?

That might be a recent guardrail introduced to the AI provider.

Perhaps you can try using Google Cloud’s “Extract text from image” first, then “Generate text” using that result.
