# How to pass a user's email automatically with a form entry?

i am using row owners so data submitted is only viewable by the person who owns that data. this works, but i cannot figure out how to automatically pass along a user’s email address when they submit a new form entry. any ideas/help? 🙂

In your form setup, add a “Special Value” that grab the signed-in user’s email address, and assign it to the appropriate column. You can also use the Email column from the “User Profile Columns” area if you’ve set up User Profiles in your app.

thank you! the special value solution works for now. i have yet to set up user profiles (or learn how), but will investigate that soon.

Super simple — if you’re interested, just click the “User Profile” tab and then assign the appropriate Sheet/Table.
