# How to launch the 'Compose SMS' action

It would be the default app you use for SMS on your device.

Well, that would be my Gmail account it is not bringing it up. Why is that?

Compose SMS would only really be useful on phones that have an SMS texting app.

Gmail should not be your SMS app, say for MacOS it would be “Messages”, I’m not sure what the equivalent is for Windows.
