# How many lines of data does Google allow?

Im seeing different answers on the web for this so thought id ask here. How many rows of data does Google allow?

I believe the limit is five million cells, across a maximum of 200 tabs, and each sheet cannot have more than 256 columns I think. Sheets performance degrades long before these limits, in my experience.

I screwed up an arrayformula recently and it added rows until it locked up at 50,000 rows. I don’t remember how may columns I had but I think it was whatever the default is, I believe A-Z.
