# GlideOS: No way to change app icon without using AI chat credits?

Hey everyone,
I’m building a fitness app called Arbify on GlideOS and I’m trying to upload a custom app icon (I have the PNGs ready, 1024x1024, dark and white versions).
In classic Glide there was a manual “Settings \> Name & Icon” panel where you could just upload an image directly. I can’t find anything equivalent in GlideOS:
- The workspace-level Settings (top left, “Skyral” dropdown) only has an icon field for the _workspace_, not the individual app — changing it there didn’t update my Arbify app’s icon in the “All apps” list on the dashboard.
- Inside the Arbify app editor itself, the only menu I can find (via the 3-dot icon next to the app tab) has Rename, Switch to desktop, Fullscreen, Add to favorites, Open on phone, and View published app — nothing about the icon.
- I’m currently at 0 credits, so I can’t just ask the AI agent in chat to do it either.
Is there a manual way to set the app-level icon in GlideOS, or is this genuinely locked behind AI chat credits right now? If it’s the latter, that seems like a rough limitation for something as basic as an icon change — would love to know if this is on the roadmap to fix.

Agreed. I’ve asked Glide about this one, too. We need the ability to change the app icon without using credits.

I have that doing all the heavy building with Claude Code and all the little changes with the OS agent seems to work well. That being said changing the app icon should be easier.
