# Getting distance running on Android TV

Hi gliders!  
Is it possible to use Glide App on an Android TV or Google TV, with getting actual Distance Column on that device?  
I need to use this for TV placed on buses.

Only if that device has is own GPS and location services. That is going to depend on the device itself.

if not, you could build a very simple app that links to a table for tracking purposes. That app is then installed on another device (cheap phone) and kept on the bus.

True, but I feel that would require a lot of updates to keep the database updated with the current location of that device. I think the only way to do something like that would require a third party services to update and store coordinates and then retrieve them with a javascript column. (Basically bypass any data being stored on the Glide servers.). Kind of gets messy at that point.

Agree about the potential large number of updates. I am guessing that Alexey is trying to change the content shown based on location of the bus. Not sure of a simple solution for that, that would not require consistent pinging of location.

Agree with both. Seems it wuold be too costly or too messy using Glide for this purpose.
