# Generate Text - Are values regenerated regularly?

How does the Generate Text column function. Is the text generated every time the app is opened or every time the column is edited? If a new row is added is the whole column regenerated or just the new row?

Just the new row unless the prompt changes. The results are heavily cached in the generate text column. The action doesn’t cache anything.
