# Email autofills wrong - new user sign up

I’m having a really weird problem where when a new user signs up, it autofills the email with a random one and glitches out when user tries to change it.

Do you have anonymous emails turned on? If so, you’ll get masked email addesses in the database.

I think the behaviour of this is:

- Public app: Still requires upgrading to enable.

- Private app: I think this option might not be needed, since you must already know the emails before to limit it to a private app. The only case where you may not know everything before hand is “anyone from domains”, but I tested and it still gives me the real email.

Or you can create a new text column named it email and collect from the user from the user profile screen.
