Continuing the discussion from [Download video on iPhone/Mac](https://community.glideapps.com/t/download-video-on-iphone-mac/22573/3).

If anyone has any suggestion then please let me know. I’m having tough time figuring out a solution for one of my key users.

I tried to add a button that opens a link (with the video link as the target) but it opens the video on iphone in full screen and there’s no option to save/download the video.

What’s the best way to allow iphone users to download the video? It’s hosted on S3 so it’s not a YT video.

Android users has the option to download straight from the player as I am showing here:

Thanks a lot!

You could try something like this. Create a full `<a href>` tag with a template column that includes the ‘download’ tag. You might have to display this link using a rich text component. I’m not sure you could use it with a button. From what I’ve read, this may not always work.

Here are some that I picked from Reddit:

> Not sure if anyone answered this. This is what works for me. Months back, I downloaded a shortcut from a 3rd party developer (not able to recollect his name or OC link) Here’s my link: [Download File Shortcut](https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/8c914711bf6147d5bee7d190d8fe32f0). Once this is added to your iPhone, make sure to enable Show in Share Sheet option for this shortcut. Then, whenever a video is playing in a browser (ie. after clicking on download video in any website), click on the close player icon in top left and with the video page still intact, choose to share the webpage and you can find “Download File” shortcut in the bottom. This will allow you to download the video from the video URL. Hope, it helps.

> Use aloha browser … Apart from YouTube it will capture any video to download on ur device Just stream the video and long press it and the option to download it would pop Earlier it used to capture video from YouTube too but not anymore

Thanks, but I think the idea is making any users able to download a video that was uploaded into Glideapps. Asking users to use a third party app is not appropriate.

Yeah, I agree. Apple is not making it easy.
