# Custom Kanban hiding blank columns

How do I hide empty columns for Custom Kanban, the filtering option does not seem to work.

Hey Brandon,

~~If you want them to hide when not filled, you can just remove the Title I believe.~~

EDIT: Sorry for the above, I was thinking of this the other way around.

Custom groups will show all groups that you create because a KanBan’s functionality is to drag and drop between categories.

If you take off the custom groups, you will only see the ones that actively have an item which would then require some other element to advance the item through your statuses.

Yeah this is basically the point of Kanban. If you hide the empty columns by default, there’s no way for you to move items to that column.
