# Chat Deletion

Why cant i delete chat within the app we should be able to delete when we long hold on the chat then delete it, the only way to do it is through the app builder itself.

That has always been the case since the introduction of that component, and that’s one of the reasons I almost always build the chat function myself, at the cost of rows, of course. With a custom-built chat, you can allow users to edit and delete, though.

👆 This is somewhat key. Unless the data/rows are purged regularly, as long as users use the app and the custom-built chat, by design the quotas _will_ be reached.

cant add chat feature in my app as its not showing in the navigation like it used to?.
