# Charts - error in labeling the caption field with a dynamic value

_I have encountered this before but it’s time to flag the bug:_

I have a chart as shown below:

I want to replace the label for the Benchmark curve from a static label ‘Benchmark’ to a dynamic label that points to a cell.

However, when I update the field for the Chart component, the change is not reflected and it persists in adopting the static label “Benchmark”, presumably based on the Value field for the curve.

Net, please fix the Caption field so that the chart recognizes the instruction to apply a dynamic legend name.

For completeness, I have even tried replacing the caption with another static text entry, e.g. TestText and this is actioned. The issue appears to relate to pointing it to a column by clicking on the 4 dots and selecting a field. In case there are some restrictions, e.g. it cannot point to a look-up column then this needs to be clear. I have also tried pointing it to a single \*value column, that also does not work… or pointing to a field in the user column - also no success.
