# Change the values of an excel

Hello,

I have an application with a source based on excel. I want to replace this excel with the same excel (column) but with different values because I want to generate an excel from sage to my storage and then replace the last version.

I know I can open excels and modify values, but I will save a lot of time if I can just replace it with the same name at the same place then the way is the same for Glide.

I already try it on google sheet I input my excel then I replace values and keep the same column but it doesn’t work, it disappears and my layout too.

If you have questions I will reply this Monday, thank you to take time about this subject.

When you replace an Excel file with a new one, I think Glide sees it as a whole new table.

Though you have the same schema, the underlying “tableID” is different I guess.

I’m not sure why it would take a lot of time to update values inside the current file. Wouldn’t it just be a copy and paste of values?
