Question…is there a way to tell if someone is currently using my app? Maybe this way I can determine when I can make changes to my already published app without interrupting what they might be doing?

Not really. There isn’t a value for that. Google analytics will give you high level overview across all users in your app, but the only way to see if someone’s in your app is to record the current datetime to a column in the user profile table. Make it part of a “daily check in” process or something. Kinda clunky though.
