🚦 Build a Dynamic Status System (Icons, Colors & Tags)

:waving_hand: Hey Fellow Gliders!

I’ve been meaning to create this tutorial for a while now. I’ve seen WAY too many apps and templates that require users to select statuses from a drop down menu. Sure, there are times when selecting a status is easier to develop than building out an automated status pipeline, but it requires your users to do double duty and is prone to inaccurate data records.

In the video below, learn the “Work Backwards” method for creating foolproof conditional logic in Glide. I walk through a real-world Claims App example to demonstrate how multiple date columns can dictate a record’s journey from “New” to “Paid.”

  • Create a “pipeline” of timestamps for your data.
  • Use Computed Columns to trigger status changes automatically.
  • Design dynamic “Mark as Paid” buttons with visibility conditions.
  • Prevent “double duty” for your users and keep your data 100% accurate.

:popcorn:Enjoy!
