# Avoiding picture distortion

I’m trying to insert a stack of images to use as buttons, using the old trick of dividing 1 image into sections. But when I insert the images I’m getting some distortion even when selecting 1:1 and edge to edge.

Anyone have any tips on sizing? For example, how many pixels wide should the image be?

I guess there might be extra complexity with device formats but I’m surprised I can’t fix the distortion when I choose 1:1.

Thanks but it’s less about resolution and everything to do with distortion.
