I have a Glide app that displays a curated list of (AI-)tools, with tips, how-to’s and other information like pricing, level, etc. I’d like to integrate AI to automate the process of verifying and updating the information monthly. Specifically, the AI should:

1. **Verify Accuracy** : Cross-check the existing data against reliable sources to ensure all information is accurate and up-to-date. Maybe just the website of the tool.
2. **Detect Updates** : Identify if any tools in the list have updates (e.g., new features, changes in pricing, or other details).
3. **Update the Table** : Automatically update the associated table in Glide with verified and approved changes.

The solution should integrate seamlessly with Glide and minimize manual intervention.

Is there a good option for this? Maybe with an API or scraper of the website of the tool? Would love to hear that!

That sounds pretty complex to me because of some concerns below:

1/What do you consider as “reliable sources”?

2/If you have reliable sources, I think you should pull straight from them to not have to verify anymore?

3/Updates might be hard to detect. Unless your source store something like a JSON of all versions for a tool.

Hey, thanks for your reply.

Well, for example, I have Perplexity as a tool in it. And I want it to automatically update when they have a new model or if prices change. So I was thinking about: scraping their website for example?

Or: through ChatGPT Search, but I read that OpenAI may not publish the API of ChatGPT Search.

I also have a GPT in ChatGPT that might help for the update. I actually don’t need 100% reliability, 90% is enough.

Sites might block you from doing that, and even if you can scrape, it’s most likely unstructured data and you’ll have a hard time to decide how to know when there’s a new release.

I believe GPTs are not available through the API, but if you find something useful enough, it’s worth trying to build one equivalent through the Assistants API.
