# Asking about Glide Capabilities For creating a market hub app

Hi Glide Community,

I’m exploring the possibility of building a marketplace or multi-vendor app similar to Amazon using Glide. I’m interested in knowing if Glide is capable of handling such a complex project, especially in terms of integrating app data with a website.

I’m looking for insights from experienced Glide users who have attempted similar projects or have knowledge of Glide’s capabilities in this area.

Any advice, tips, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I hesitate to answer because I’ve never attempted to build a marketplace on Glide, so really I don’t know.

I do think that Glide ~~isn’t~~ is _designed_ to build a marketplace: marketplace features out of the box, 3rd-party marketplace/e-commerce integrations, SEO friendliness, … I don’t think this is where Glide would shine.

The first tools that come to mind when I think of building a marketplace or e-commerce website are Mirakl, Shopify and Prestashop. Then again, I just know these by name.

Once you’ve established a marketplace/e-commerce business, Glide might come into play to help you manage the business. Glide shines to help build custom software that will support an _existing_ business, not build custom software that will _be_ the business. I hope these insights might help.
